The company is best known for the invention and development of the Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer (PDPA). The PDPA has opened a broad range of possibilities for those involved in liquid atomization, two-phase flows, aerodynamics, aerosol research and more. It is widely accepted as the standard for particle size determination because it is non-disruptive and very accurate. A phase Doppler system will provide particle size, number density, velocity, time-of-arrival information and more.
The company also offers highly refined Laser
Doppler Velocimeter (LDV) systems for in-situ flow velocity, turbulence and
trajectory. Aerometrics LDV systems are used in some of the world's leading
institutions. Many configurations are available and all may be upgraded to
sizing and up to three channels of velocity determination.
Aerometrics' PDPA and LDV systems use high quality electronic and optical
components for ease of operation and longevity. 1-, 2- and 3-component systems
are available. A variety of signal processors are offered. The majority of the
processors are based on the optimal signal processing technique, the Fourier
transform.
Particle Image Velocimeter
For applications requiring planar analysis of velocity, turbulence, vorticity
and trajectory, particle image velocimeters are offered. Aerometrics’ PIV
systems are CCD-based for rapid data acquisition and analysis. Several high
resolution CCD cameras can be used. The PIV system software is user-friendly
and provides control of the timing and image shift along with many other
features.
Eclipse Particle Size Analyzer
The Eclipse is a new system for sizing
spherical or non-spherical particles. It uses a light obscuration technique and
is ideal for liquid-liquid and liquid-solid suspensions, as well as some
aerosols. Measurements are made independently from index of refraction for
flexibility and accuracy.
Ratiometric Particle Analyzer
Another new and highly innovative system is the Ratiometric Particle Analyzer (RPA). It was developed for on-line sizing and flow speed determination. It is capable of measuring both non-spherical and spherical particles.
Laser Vapor Sheet Generators
Aerometrics carries a range of fixed and variable laser sheet generators for use in a variety of applications and environments. These provide a low-cost qualitative analysis of flows and sprays. In most cases a stock item will fulfil a customers needs, but custom designs are available.
Accessories
Several accessories have been developed to complement PDPA, LDV, PIV and RPA systems. These include flow visualization tools, traversing systems, particle generation systems and more.
